Boiler and heat pump finance

A new boiler when you need it, paid for over time.

Boilers rarely fail at a convenient moment, and a new one is a big bill to find in one go. Finance lets you spread the cost of a new boiler or heat pump over monthly payments. Finance is subject to status and is provided by a third-party lender, not by Wisp Heating. It starts with a fixed quote, so you know the full price before you look at payments.

How boiler finance works

First we survey your home and give you a fixed price for the job. If you want to spread the cost, you apply for finance on that amount with our lending partner. The lender runs its own checks and decides whether to offer you credit.

If you are accepted, the lender pays for the installation and you repay the lender monthly. If you are not, you are under no obligation to go ahead, and the quote still stands if you would rather pay another way.

What you can finance

For heat pumps, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant comes off the price first. You would only look at finance for whatever is left.

  • New gas boilers, including combi boiler installation
  • Oil and LPG boiler replacements
  • Air source and ground source heat pumps
  • The extra work that goes with them, such as cylinders, radiators and controls

Things to check before you apply

Finance is a credit agreement, so treat it like one. Read the lender's terms in full before you sign.

  • The total amount repayable, not just the monthly figure
  • The interest rate and the length of the agreement
  • Whether you can pay off early, and if there is a charge
  • What a credit check means for your credit file
  • Whether the monthly payment fits your budget comfortably

Finance or savings?

If you have the money, paying outright avoids interest. Finance makes sense when a boiler has failed and you need heat now, or when spreading the cost lets you choose a better system instead of the cheapest one.

If money is tight, Citizens Advice offers free, independent help with debt and borrowing decisions. It is worth a look before taking on any credit.

Questions

Boiler and heat pump finance FAQs

What interest rate will I pay?

That depends on the lender, the length of the agreement and your circumstances. We do not set rates. The lender confirms the rate and total repayable before you agree to anything.

Who provides the finance?

A third-party lender, not Wisp Heating. Ask us for the current lender and the options available when you get your quote.

Will applying affect my credit score?

The lender will check your credit file as part of the application. Ask them whether they do a soft search first and how a full application shows on your file.

Can I get finance on a heat pump?

Yes, finance options are available on heat pumps as well as boilers, subject to status. Any Boiler Upgrade Scheme grant is taken off the price first.

Do I have to take finance to get a quote?

No. The quote is free and the same price however you pay. Finance is just one option.
