Boiler Installation Bridgwater
New boilers from Castle Street to the newest estates
We install boilers in Bridgwater homes of every age, from Victorian terraces in Westover to newer houses out at Wembdon and North Petherton. We survey first, check the gas supply, water flow and flue options, then give you one fixed price.

Boiler installation in Bridgwater
Boiler installation in Bridgwater ranges from the Georgian houses on Castle Street and King Square to the semis and terraces off Taunton Road. On a listed front like those, a stray terminal is not an option, so we look at rear walls, basements and old chimneys with a liner first. If you are in one of the streets near Blake Gardens by the river, ask us about moving an old boiler out of the kitchen while the work is on. Some changes to a listed building need consent, inside or out, and the council explains how to apply for listed building consent if your plans need it.
We fit new boilers in Cannington, Puriton, Woolavington and Durleigh as well as the town.
Local homes, local know-how
Georgian brick townhouses around Castle Street and King Square, long runs of Victorian brick terraces from the town's brick and tile era, post-war estates, and new developments on the edges. Most homes are on mains gas, with oil in some Levels villages.

What we fit most around town and on the Levels
Boilers out of back kitchens in brick terraces
Many Victorian brick terraces still have the boiler in a small back kitchen or outhouse. A new boiler is a good time to move it to a better spot, such as a bedroom cupboard or the loft, freeing up kitchen space. We plan the flue and condensate routes before quoting.
Oil boilers in flood-prone villages
Homes on the moors that are off mains gas often run on oil. Where flooding is a risk, we fit the new boiler high on a wall or upstairs, and make sure the oil tank is securely anchored so it cannot shift or float if water rises around it.
Bigger boilers for shared houses
Landlords letting rooms to contractors often find an old combi cannot keep up with five or six people showering before an early shift. We often fit a system boiler with an unvented cylinder, so several showers can run without the hot water running out.

Planning around flood risk and carnival night
If your home is on the moors or close to the river, check your address on the government's flood risk map before the survey. It tells us whether we should plan a raised boiler position and anchoring for an oil tank.
The carnival takes over the town centre on a Saturday in early November, with roads closed from the morning until late at night. If you live in the centre, we will not book an install on carnival day, and we plan around the busy evenings when the procession is in the area.
If your house is listed, consent may be needed for changes inside as well as out. Allow for that in your timing. In the brick terraces of Westover and Hamp, rear access is often a narrow back lane, so tell us if the old boiler will need to come out through the back. If you are weighing up a combi against a cylinder, our combi vs system boiler guide explains the differences.
Why choose Wisp for boiler installation in Bridgwater
Terraces and tank systems
Older brick terraces in Hamp and Westover often still have a loft tank. A combi conversion frees the space.
Back boilers out
Post-war homes in Sydenham sometimes still have one behind the fireplace. We remove it and fit a modern boiler somewhere sensible.
Raised positions on low ground
On flood-prone land out towards the Levels, we keep the boiler and controls high on the wall where we can.
Finance options
Prefer to pay monthly? Finance is available on new boilers, and we go through it on the survey.

Boiler repair BridgwaterBoiler Installation Bridgwater FAQs
Can a boiler replacement go in the same place as my old one?
In most cases, yes, and it is the quickest and cheapest option. We check the flue still meets current clearance rules, because older positions near windows or boundaries sometimes do not, and we tell you on the survey if it needs to move.
Should I get a combi boiler installation in a four-bed new build?
If the house has two or more bathrooms used at the same time, a system boiler with a cylinder usually serves it better. A combi suits smaller homes. We test your water flow and talk through both. Our get a quote page books the survey.
My home is in the Levels villages. Is my boiler at risk from flooding?
If you are in a flood risk area, siting matters. A wall-hung boiler positioned well above floor level, with controls and wiring kept high, has a far better chance of surviving a flood. Avoid floor-standing boilers on the ground floor where you can. We plan all of this on the survey.
Our oil tank is in a flood risk area. Does it need anything special?
It should be anchored securely so floodwater cannot lift or move it, and the pipework protected so it cannot break. We check the tank on the survey and recommend any changes. If the tank is old or damaged, replacing it with the boiler often makes sense, as a leaking tank in a flood causes serious pollution.
Can you fit a boiler that copes with a shared house full of tenants?
Yes. A system boiler with an unvented cylinder can supply several showers at once, which suits a shared house better than most combis. We work out the hot water demand from the number of rooms and bathrooms, then size the boiler and cylinder to match. We also check the gas supply can cope.
